Kohav’s progress has been phenomenal.   2009 he started training level Ridden dressage and Combined Driving doing great in both venues. His wins in the USEF Pleasure Hackney classes earned him the 2009 & 2010 USEF Hackney Horse of the Year award in keeping with the OakBriar winning records. We see “Brio” and his offspring doing even great things in the future.

OakBriar is very excited about this Stallion. HE is a rare and exceptional son of the incomparable English Imported Forewood Niatross out of a truly amazingly well bred English Imported mare named Spanish Miami

Spanish Miami whom has a high-quality pedigree, built on the very best female lines. Here at OakBriar we are ever conscious of the importance of the mare lines in Hackney breeding and Miami's are from some of the finest English and Irish lines. Jamies Sally was a chestnut mare bred by John Chicken of the Stapleford stud, the horse side of the stud  of Theydon breeding, Sally ended her days in Ireland, and there is an usually strong Irish connection in this pedigree. Sally was by Grants Picador, he was a real grand horse of the old type, very steady and a very nice versatile horse. He was shown in single, double, tandem  and under saddle. Picador was a bay standing 15.3H with four stockings and a blaze, his breeder Arthur Grant had continued the bloodlines of John Partington of Ashley and Marfleet fame, Tom Hoedley bought Picador to head his Theydon stud when first started breeding then later replaced him with Suddie Scintillation. Picador lived a long life around the Essex area, he didn't sire many Hackney foals but he did sire some good ones, he was mainly used on cob mares. Stapleford Silver Queen, Sallys dam needs no greater accolade than to say she is the dam of Southsides Equalizer, she was of "classical" Theydon breeding going back to the beloved Black Magic mare Fernbank Silver Queen.
